Guitar Hero III (360): COMPLETED!

“Lou” was totally impossible yesterday. I couldn’t even come close to beating him. And yet, for some reason, I managed it on my first try today without realising I was almost there. Amazing. You have to “finish him” after that (which is basically just finishing the song), and then it was credits time – complete with another track to play over (or, more literally, under) them. With that all done, I went and bought all the rest of the bonus …

Guitar Hero III (360)

So I beat Slash and made it up as far as Satan. Sorry, Lou, not Satan. Pff. And he’s impossible as the notes are completely random and move far too fast for mere humans. Which is probably why he wins, what with not being human and all. It’s a shame, because I’d managed to 4 or 5 star every track leading up to him without too much difficulty. I even mastered hammer-ons and pull-offs, but only for one track, but …

Stafi delivery!

Densetsu no Stafi games are ace, aren’t they? Completely incomprehensable, yes, but amazing nonetheless. And, thanks to a sale at Play Asia, I’m now the proud owner of the first and third games in the series, having completed parts 2 and 4 earlier in the year. In other Exciting Delivery News, Guitar Hero III GET!

Guitar Hero II (360)

RAWK TEH HELL ON! Today, I bought Guitar Hero II. I already have the original game for the PS2, complete with guitar controller, so it made perfect sense to buy the 360 version and another controller for twice the cost it would have been for a fully usable PS2 copy. This was mainly due to the new guitar being ACES, but also because of the promised Xbox Live downloadable content (that’s XBL DLC, abbreviation fans!) and online leaderboards. So this …

The 2010 Gaming Expenditure Horror

I’ve been tracking which games I play, on my Gaming Diary, for 6 years now. It’s helped me realise how many different games I play, and how many I complete. This year, however, I’ve additionally started tracking the games I buy, and how much I paid for them – the aim being to scare myself into how much I spend on gaming. Thing is, just knowing that it’s logged has actually made me more frugal with my spending. Not only …

Top 10 Obscure Games

I’ve often said that I love buying games that are bizarre and obscure. Usually, they’re crap – which often explains why they’re pretty obscure. Sometimes, though, they’re great. By obscure I mean they’re pretty much unheard of to the general gaming public. This is either because they’re for a machine never released in whatever region of the world they’re in, or the game bombed so nobody bought it (these games aren’t always bad, surprisingly), or even just that nobody forgot …

2007: A Year in Gaming – Part 1

So, the end of the year is nigh, and I thought I’d round up this year’s games. That is, the games I’ve played this year, rather than just those that have come out this year, although in most cases it’s the same thing. January The year started as 2006 ended – with Castlevania. Specifically, Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance on the GBA, supplemented by Super Castlevania IV for the Wii’s Virtual Console. There was also a lot …

Too many games!

It’s that time of year again. Well, actually, it’s not, which is the problem. Traditionally, there’s slim pickings for new games around this time of year. The busiest times for releasing new titles (especially big titles) is normally around Christmas and often over Easter too, but the July-October period is like release death in the UK. Except this year. As well having Bioshock released this week already, there’s fahsands more out between now and the end of November. Before the …
